Dill and parsley, chopped and at the ready

Dill and parsley, chopped and at the ready

Varieties grown: Hera, Thalia

Dill is a tender herb related to carrots, fennel, parsley, and celery; its flavor is mild and somewhat reminiscent of fennel or licorice. Traditionally used as a pairing to cucumbers, it is very versatile and adds comforting flavor to almost any dish.

How to use it:

  • In cucumber pickles or dilly beans

  • It dries down wonderfully for storage in a jar in your spice cabinet

  • In chicken, fish, and potato dishes

  • In pasta salads and tossed salads

  • As a garnish for soups, especially borscht or potato-leek

How to store it: In the refrigerator, inside a non-breathable container (plastic bag, glass or plastic storage tub, etc.).
